Fantasy Footsie A football share trading game by Howard Bishop. Each player starts with £1000. The game starts about a third of the way through the football season, and a player may buy shares in any Premier League football teams priced according to their league positions at gamestart. Throughout the season players may buy and sell shares according to the latest league table. The GM may specify restrictions on when shares can be bought and sold, and/or what league table should be used, in order to simplify the running of the game. Share Prices: 1st = £56
There is a fee of £1 per share for buying or selling. E.g. if you sold 10 shares in Everton @ £10, you would gain £100 - £10 = £90. If you then bought 10 shares in Bolton @ £6, this would cost you £60 + £6 = £66. No player may have more than 50% of his shares (by number) in a single club. This restriction is only applied after a batch of transactions. So if you had 30 Southampton, 18 Liverpool and 12 Chelsea, you could sell your Chelsea shares provided you bought at least 12 new shares with the money. Otherwise you'd have to sell a few Southamptons. Players may not go into debt. Whoever has the most money (shares + cash) at the end of the season is the winner. Alternative Rule: Each player gets £500 at the start then £500 halfway through the game (to give players doing badly a second chance). |
