Dead Pool 2000

Dum dum te dum

Dead Pool is a sick game (ideal for SMEG, then) which I believe originated from the Clint Eastwood film "The Dead Pool". There are number of variants, and the SMEG version is as follows:

You must select 6 famous people in the hope that they die during the millennium year - i.e. sometime in the year 2000. Your six should comprise two people in each of the three categories as follows:

1) Knockin' on Heaven's Door - these people can be as old and sick as you want (example: Boris Yeltsin). Each one that dies scores 1 point.

2) Still Goin' Strong - these people can be as old as you want, but must be free of serious illness (example: the Queen Mum). Each one that dies scores 2 points.

3) Live Fast Die Young - these people must be under 40 and in good health (though drug addiction and mental problems are allowed). Kurt Cobain, Michael Hutchence, Ayrton Senna, Jill Dando... who's next? Each one that dies scores 3 points.

Any number can play but orders must be received by 31st December 1999.

If one of your choices dies in 1999, you may nominate a replacement.

If I haven't heard of a person, then they are considered "insufficiently famous" and you must specify a replacement.

The game runs until 31st December 2000, and the player with the most points in total wins. In the event of a tie the winner is the person with the first death.
